Increased awareness of strengths and areas for growth
After continuously gymming for a year, I have found that my strength lies in the focus I dedicate to maintaining good form for each exercise, and also in my attention to the science behind working out. This is shown in my research in the fields of hypertrophy, figuring out ways to maximise muscle growth or increase strength based on the number of reps, and paying attention to mobility through means of animal locomotion.
It has also made me aware of areas for growth, which was mainly related to discipline and creating a schedule I stuck by but also incorporating cardio and stamina demanding exercises into my work.
I believe I have improved in these areas as I set up a workout routine that spans 3 weeks, effectively splitting time between callisthenics and weightlifting. This also took into account a maintained split for push, pull and legs, and additionally included mobility and cardio training. By sticking to this routine, and tracking my weight progress, I was able to maintain a disciplined program.
