EE: Initial Reflection

When we started the EE process I had a broad idea of what I wanted to do, which was a result of adding my favorite things/ideas/ concepts together. It went something like:

Diwali + Celebration + ESS + Sustainability

When I reached this ‘equation’ what I got was an abstract and wide concept that I was passionate about, but it was far from the refined question I needed to really orient myself for my EE.

While I knew this, I wasn’t exactly sure how to refine the idea, but that’s when my meetings with Ms. Couture (my EE supervisor) helped me. We sat and talked about my ideas, which to me is the best way of learning. Eventually, these conversations coupled with the initial research I did (literature analysis) helped me refine my question to: Does the economic and cultural significance of the Diwali celebrations in New Delhi, India outweigh its environmental impact?

However, I’m just going have to be careful to stick majorly on the discussion of environmental impacts to prevent writing an economic EE or something of the sort!
