From the beginning, I wanted to explore a contemporary event that had global implications. Therefore, looking at the trade war between the United States and China was the perfect way for me to do this while incorporating economics and global politics. The research involved with this EE is largely based around current news articles as well as concepts taken from textbooks to explain the theory behind the case study. So far, I have collected recent articles from news sites like Bloomberg, CNN and Reuters. These news articles provide an unbiased account of the event while also providing various statistics. So far the biggest problem has been trying to differentiate between the economic and political concepts when discussing the issue. So far, research has not been an issue as there have been enough articles online, is that this is such an important event.
