Become Ocean – John Luther Adams

When the music slowly faded away, the silence in the room felt strangely louder than the constant hum from the piece. It was really strange falling in and out of consciousness during the 20 minutes as my head felt a bit cloudy, kind of like the sensation of falling asleep on a plane.

While I was in that dreamlike state I felt like the sound of the ocean and the imagery of nature consumed me, moving at their own volition without anyone controlling it. The texture sounded very complex and full of depth. It sounded all jumbled together without a proper structure or melody but gives the depiction of slowly drowning in an ocean full of waves.
