Initially, ITGS was a component of my EE, however, after further inspection I realised it doesn’t fit the subject requirements and hence, my essay is a single subject: English Language. I sorted through my research and selected my primary focus for analysis; science for misinformation and politics for disinformation. My understanding of the issue with misleading content deepened when I gained further insight through published government studies and analysing doctored images/text from selected sources myself. My supervisor has advised me to modify my essay to be completely relevant to the language which is used to manipulate and misinform as he found the specificities and statistics of misinformation and disinformation excessive. Additionally, my research question didn’t capture the focus of my essay and I have changed it to be more specific, with my supervisor’s guidance. I have a clearer idea of what my direction I want my conclusion to take and will be working on it.
