Since orals for french students have concluded, I am no longer needed to help them. I really enjoyed the opportunity as I felt that I was gaining as much knowledge as the students, it was really interesting to see how when I need to teach someone, sometimes I can lack the confidence in what I am saying. I also realised that sometimes my technical vocabulary was not quite present and that could have impacted the student’s learning. On the other hand, it was a really great way to meet new people and also help them develop their french skills. It was interesting to see the varying skill levels and the way in which different meetings were conducted differently around their needs. Overall, I was really pleased that I signed up to help tutor them as it helped me just as much as I hope it helped them and it was a rewarding experience.
