Learning Outcome 04 – Show commitment to and perseverance in your CAS experience
Through participating in the football teams and groups throughout grade 11 and grade 12, I was able to build up my strengths, gain a lot of skills and learn much about teamwork and cooperation between the different teammates as well with our trainers. One of the main aspects through which I contributed to the group was through thorough participation and commitment to the training. Even in Grade 12 where we didn’t have any matches or train towards competitiveness, I was still very persistent in my attendance and motivation.
In this season of football, we focused mostly on different ways of training in groups of 5, as that was the covid regulations. Through creative methods of splitting the big field into four areas which then played together, we enhanced our quick responsiveness and reactions, much needed for football. To play with a mixed group between the previous A team and B team allowed me to learn from the other girls.
Furthermore, since I was one of the oldest and had participated in football longer than others, I was able to help and teach others, especially who were also defending, with the knowledge I have gained throughout the two seasons.
All in all, I can reflect on my CAS experience in football, that it was very beneficial in recognising my own skills and improving those with the help of the team and trainers through a strong commitment, even after the Covid regulations were in place.
