My activity component of CAS is body pump, which is a strenuous workout designed by Les Mills involving both cardiovascular and resistance training. I have had a bit of experience with Body Pump before, mainly last year during PE where I struggled a lot. I played football for 4 years so I had developed pretty good cardiovascular endurance, but this deteriorated over the summer so body pump, while not really a “struggle” anymore, is still most definitely a challenge. My biggest strength that is relevant to body pump is perseverance. I chose this activity because I knew it would push me and challenge me physically, as obviously nobody wants to spend an hour doing a gruelling physical challenge, but I knew that it would test my resilience and allow me to leave my comfort zone. I would like to improve on my time management, as last year this was one of my main areas of improvement. For example, if I had an activity that was at 4:30, I would usually do nothing while waiting for the activity to start, or hang out with friends. This year I have recognized that I need to make efficient use of my time, and I have started planning my schedule in a way that has allowed me to be productive and finish homework while waiting for body pump to start.

My main area for growth is very specific to the activity itself: cardiovascular endurance and a healthier lifestyle. I have been doing resistance training for a few months but I have not been doing as much cardio and this fact is apparent during the body pump sessions as I struggle during the cardio-intensive portions. From a health perspective, it is important to have good cardiovascular endurance, and body pump will definitely help me improve in that regard.

Look at me bicep curling 180kg. What a prime physical specimen I have become.
