After finishing learning the piece, looking back, I realise it was quite hard for me to maintain my motivation at times. As mentioned in my previous reflection, there were times when I was tempted to give up due to the difficulty of the piece and the mental perseverance as well as the time commitment required. The time commitment was of particular importance as I felt that piano was not as important as the other things I was doing such as academics so the thought of giving it up and freeing up some more time in my week was enticing. I was able to deal with this and stay motivated because I didn’t want to give up and because I had chosen to do something that I really enjoy doing, so now that I have done something so difficult I feel very accomplished and proud.
