Learning outcome 7: Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
I joined Kahaani for two reasons; one, because I was excited to challenge myself to step out of my comfort bubble and join a dance show and two, because I wanted to contribute and join in to help the Kolkata Global Concern (GC) to raise funds. The Kolkata GC partners with an organisation called Voice of World in the Indian city, Kolkata. This organisation focuses on the education and skill development of visually impaired and orphaned kids. Although I am not a part of the Kolkata GC, I was aware of this bigger cause and celebration through Kahaani and wanted to be a part of it. I feel that joining Kahaani would not simply be a personal accomplishment for learning a new style of dance and performing live, but also to raise awareness to a bigger cause by supporting the members of Voice of World.
My interest in joining Kahaani was also partly because I was still very new to the school and wanted to make new friends by sharing a memorable experience with them. Therefore, I signed up for the Friday lunch time dance as Friday is when I have the most free time table and no activities so far.
