CAS Reflection #2 – Guitar

In this reflection for my musical instrument acquisition of the guitar, I will be focusing on Learning Objective 2 which is undertaking new challenges and developing new skills. I had recently committed to preparing for a Grade 2 guitar exam and it was a new challenge I had set for myself because so far I had been learning guitar as a passion and I hadn’t judged my learning process to assess where I can improve. To prepare for this exam, I have had to learn new songs that are quite challenging and step up from what I have learnt so far, so it was quite difficult, to begin with as there were certain chords that I wasn’t familiar with. this required me to take the initiative to work on practising these new chords and skills by allocating more time to guitar practice and while it was difficult at first it became much easier as I practised more and this was reflected in the way I played as well. I think this shows the challenge that I recently faced in my guitar learning and how I managed to overcome it as well.
