Knowledge Claim: A persons capacity to grow will be limited

A person’s capacity to grow will always be limited to a certain extent, due to many external factors. For example, a lot of people say they will work their hardest to become a football player, however, only a very small amount of people will achieve that goal. Some people will not be able to grow to a certain capacity they would like to, as it will always be limited by something. Genie Wiley who is a feral child was isolated by her own father for a total of 13 years. This massively impacted her development and ability to grow and caused her capacity to learn to be very limited. At first, she was progressing well and learning words of things she was seeing, but she couldn’t escape memories of her past easily and stopped making progress. This is because language is more than just words, it’s about grammar and forming sentences, which she is limited in being able to do. Her capacity was affected by her father who kept her isolated, and the left part of her brain (cortex) physically changed and became smaller, due to her having no interaction and talking to anybody for a very long period of time.
