We are a student-led initiative that meets up every Tuesday afterschool (3.15 -4.15). During this time we have group discussions about the issues involving plastic usage, and we make reusable bags out of donated and repurposed fabric. These then get put back in the UWCSEA community.
Our service follows in the footsteps of the main organisation Boomerang bags (link to their website) based in Australia, but it is a worldwide community.
Currently, we are working on putting our bags in more areas of the school. So far we have provided the school shop and the boarding house with boomerang bags. We are also working towards providing more bags to the community, mainly the library.
The family festival is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness about our service, and directly give the bags back to the community by handing them out at the event.
