Last week we focused on sewing the bags, as we had a lot of unfinished bags from the previous year. We managed to get two bags fully finished, which was not ideal as we still have a lot of bags to finish. However, this session was still helpful as it gave an idea of how fast we could sew these bags and create goals for future sessions.
One idea that we have for allowing the wider community to get to know our service better is to create kits for parents to help sew the bags and reduce our workload in this service. So this week we were split into two groups, a larger group to continue sewing the bags, which we split into sewing handles and sewing the corners of the bags, and a smaller group for cutting out the shapes for the parent kits.
