Last week we had focused on learning how to use a sewing machine, and today we focused on how to cut and iron the fabric to prepare it for sewing. Ms Jackson came to teach us how to cut the fabric and gave us tips on how to handle the irons when ironing the fabric for the handles. While our bags will be made out of the same fabric every time, we won’t know what kind of fabric we are using for our handles, and so it is important to not set the heat too high to not burn the fabric. We then practised the cutting out of the fabric, preparing them for sewing next week.
