The networking event felt quite redundant for me as I don’t feel as I took anything out of it. The feedback I got from teachers was not constructive as it did not give me any areas for improvement. I think this is because I have always found it quite easy to have conversations with other people as I have had a lot of opportunities for practise. I observed that a lot of people were not participating in the event either so that made the environment less conducive for practising conversation skills. One of the most difficult things was that there were not enough teachers to talk to so most of the time I was just standing around doing the peer conversations. I felt like it could’ve been a good opportunity to improve skills if there were actual stakes to the conversation and the outcomes of them had merit; however, I feel like nothing was realistic enough for it to be effective
