Throughout this process, and after looking into numerous EE question ideas, I have remained very interested in how Valeant, now named Bausch Health, have used acquisitions as a growth strategy for their business. Initially, when attempting to come up with a valid EE question, I had too broad a focus- looking into research and development as well as acquisitions. Being two very broad topics, it made it difficult for me to find narrow and select information. I ended up adding every single piece of information I read about Valeant into by research box- and so, I knew i didn’t have a very fine focussed question. Having such a broad focus meant that it would be difficult to analyse in detail Valeant’s actions. After reflection with my supervisor, it was decided that in order to further focus the question, I should look into a specific acquisition, and investigate how that growth strategy affected Valeant.
