LO 7: Lighthouse Motor Skills

Throughout the course of my time in service, I found that choices and decisions we made have ethical considerations especially when we were working with visually and hearing compared children. This is something we had to take into account when planning different activities, having to make choices about what we are able to do with the kids and what we are in turn unable to do with them. Planning these activities for the kids also was a big part of their school experience as they always enjoyed coming to play with us and I think that puts us under a bit more pressure to make better activities for them as we always wanted them to have the most fun they possibly could.

LO 4: Pottery

I showed commitment to pottery as I stuck with it and did manage to improve my skills, unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get any photos of the work before school was cancelled. However, the quality of my work improved over the course of the activity. Pottery was the only time I had used clay since middle school art and for me it was very enjoyable and made going every week not an issue, again showing my commitment to the activity. My first pieces from earlier in the week broke a few times but kept going and made better versions of what I had tried to make before.
