In Bootcamp, I would often work with one other friend and he would help me make a workout routine and would do that routine together for the remainder of the lesson and taught me how to plan an activity on my own. It was easy to work with this person as I already knew them outside of bootcamp and I knew them quite well already. Another reason is because he was generally quite supportive as I’m not the most athletic and could not do as much as he could but just encouraged me to try my best. Collaboration was very important in this activity as I had zero knowledge on how to use any of the gym equipment and types of exercises and collaborating with both teachers and peers help me learn what equipment was for what exercises. I think collaboration also helped with my motivation and I would not have been committed to this activity as I would have been if I was collaborating with someone else within this activity. I think in the future I could of been more supportive as I felt like I should have been more supportive and helped more with his workouts however it was hard for me to help as I am not very athletic and couldn’t do stuff like “spotting” people. I am now able to plan activities on my own and this is overall quite effective as I now am able to plan activities that now suit me in the gym and fit exactly what I am trying to improve upon which is quite beneficial overall.
