Client Header

This is the link to my folder with all the pictures in them (the ones with the screenshots are my progress)

I decided to start with the DNA picture because my client’s favourite subject is Biology and I thought that picture fit really well. Then I decided to add his name because that was the most basic thing. After that, I started experimenting with the light levels and enhancing the picture to make it look brighter and more metallic because he also likes technology. After looking at it, I realised that it was too fancy and didn’t really suit him. So I decided to start over with something else that he likes (football), and just keep it simple this time by just adding his name, but it didn’t look that good and the picture was very blurry. So I used the 3rd thing I could think of (he’d been talking a lot about Apple’s new headquarters). I used it as a background and I added his name on top as a banner and it fit really well without ruining the picture so I think that’s going to be the final one.

Like I said, I think the one with Apple’s new headquarters as the background and his name as a banner works best. That’s because it’s simple and uses something he’s really fond of. It’s not too bright or flashy and it just fits him really well. This is what it looks like:

This is the link to the post I wrote about Adam Grant’s TED Talk. I think the whole idea of doing this is to do it for someone else and that’s a very giver-like concept. I think I was mostly a giver in this project because you can’t really be a taker with this.

This is the link to the client specification. I think we did empathise with our client pretty well because everything in the banner was made with things that he likes and the way and style it was made is to fit him. We didn’t really add any of our things, except for the idea, but instead, tried to keep it exactly as our client likes it.

I think I would use Pixlr again because it had a lot of different features and was able to embellish and enhance the picture pretty well. It was slightly tough at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy to use and I could experiment a lot and change it to look how I wanted it to.

  1. I think the one big thing I can learn from you is the ability to utilize large images, sometimes only one as shown in your DNA picture with text. Something you could learn from me is using icons to your advantage for this purpose.

The most important thing your client will notice is the vivid picture of DNA assuming you utilize that one.

Something you could clarify is how exactly you couldn’t be a taker in this project. I do feel that you could perhaps take resources from others without reciprocating.

    1. Thanks. I said you that I couldn’t really be a taker because I personally emailed my client and found out all the imformation we needed. I agree that maybe I was a bit of a taker as in I used the pictures without giving that person something back.

  2. One thing I could learn from you would be experimenting with the actual photos brightness, this way I could have put text over the photos as well, like you had done. I believe the most important thing your client will notice is the background photo. I would like you to clarify why you used Apple’s Headquarters and not the football.

    1. Thanks 🙂 I used Apple’s headquarters because the football picture was too blurry and I didn’t think it looked very good and my client likes technology a lot.

  3. The background of the impressive Apple campus, complimented by a suitable font type creates a futuristic and forward thinking feel to the feel to the banner. The campus is surrounded by an immense number of trees, helping tie in with my passion for Biology.
