Taekwondo Reflection (LO 2 Challenge)

I improved on my pattern, but it would be more accurate to say that I learned more of it. Before I was only taught up to a certain point, and didn’t learn the full patter; on Wednesday September 25 of 2019, the teacher taught me the rest of the pattern. They also taught me how to kick properly. For the front snap kick and similar variations of it, the ankle and toes must be pointed. For, I think, the high kick, the ankle must be pointed but the toes must be pulled up. The first position is easier than the second; to get better at the high kick foot position, I’d have to keep on practicing. When they were first introducing the foot positions to us, they had us sit down, then have both legs bent but one leg would be off the ground while the other would stay. Then we’d practice kicking with the foot position; we had to keep our leg in the air for three seconds after each kick. I’ll probably use this method to practice as I don’t have a wide enough space to practice full kicks.

For the pattern, I measured my improvement by the fact that I could actually complete and remember the whole pattern. Sometimes I mess up on the third or sixth step, so I have to go slow to make sure I’m doing the steps correctly. So, I’m still not that fast at completing the pattern, but with enough practice I should be able to get better; the pattern’s not that complicated or difficult because it’s for the white belt.
