Interactive Storytelling with 7Oaks Child Care Centre: Mid Year CAS Reflection

Recently we had reached the halfway mark with the 7Oaks Child Care Centre local service, we have actually achieved and done quite a bit so far. we were able to decide upon a leadership team through a small presentations of candidates. Eventually we decided upon appointing Co-chairs Sky Patel and Valentino Polesel. Furthermore we have conducted a short video chat with our partners over at 7Oaks in an effort to learn more about their learning plan for the children and what they want to see from us this year, we spend time pondering questions to ask them and strategising ways in which we can conduct engaging sessions without having to meet the children physically to ensure their and our safety during the COVID 19 pandemic. It was an extremely successful call and with their feedback and recommendations we immediately got to work.

we decided that planning ahead was a very important part of doing well in this service, therefore we split ourselves in to two teams and created 2 separate sets of activities based on a children’s book.  Our team consisted of me, Natalie, Maurice, Jake, Sky and Andy. We had a great time and focused our activities around the book “Peppa Pig in the Great Barrier Reef”, based on my interest in art and my superior skill 😏 😂 I was tasked with drawing a colouring sheet of Peppa for the children to colour… here is how it turned out- I am quite proud!! 🙂

I cannot wait to learn more about early childhood education and I am excited to conduct more sessions with these children. I really feel like I am making a difference! <3
