Commentary:
In this political cartoon image, we are able to see Obama and a cow. The cow has a bell around its neck with the words, “U.S Treasury”. Obama is seen to carry a huge number of buckets ready to ‘milk’ the cow. In this case, the milk represents money. As we are able to see, the cow is very skinny and ‘drained out’. We can see on the cow’s face that he is scared or worried about Obama moving towards him. Obama looks happy in this political cartoon and calls the cow “Sunshine”, the use of calling someone after a happy symbol, sort of gives people the impression that you are trying to be nice towards them and the use of these words usually ‘calms down’ people. Obama is seen to carry many buckets with different essentials on it. Overall in this cartoon, we are able to analyse that Obama takes a lot of money from the United States’ Treasury and uses the money for banks, housing and other essential purposes for the citizens and people in the country.
