Thus far my research process has been very successful and I have found a range of reliable sources that convey different perspectives.Through my research I have been able to find a concise intention for exploring Barbie’s status as a feminist icon rather than the broader theme of empowerment, which has improved my understanding of the subject area. Earlier I was looking mainly at empowerment and did not know how I would measure Barbie up to a feminist ideal, but now I have found a way to provide a well balanced argument that explores Barbie’s relationship with mainstream and intersectional feminism. Through the research I have been able to provide a well rounded argument as to why Barbie can be considered a feminist icon. Although my supervisor has told me that my EE so far is well researched an organised, I still need to be more analytical of sources and perspective and explore some of my main ideas more thoroughly.
