4 September: I was looking forward to joining this global concern because it directly helps communities in Jakarta, my hometown. Although, I did not know much about the group JSK was collaborating with, it was still interesting to learn about some of the past projects the GC had and what were future goals and projects of JSK.
Since today was the first session we started by getting to know each other by playing ice breakers; I’m happy to have a few people I know in my GC this makes it easier to work with other. However, there were too many people that signed up for the GC, and only 15 positions were available. By the next session only a few people would be cut out from joining.
11 September : I got an email back from Ms. Venus saying that I was given one of the positions, along with all the people I know. We continued with some basic ice breakers and getting set up in a team which includes blog, events, communication, finance, and video. (LO1) I was the only that had chosen video and I will be in charge of creating any promotional videos, editing clips, and translating Bahasa from footage taken during the last trip to Jakarta. I have no problem translating as I’m fluent in Bahasa but I believe it will be somewhat of a challenge with using video effects and coming up with creative video ideas.
