The type and style of theatre was very creative, imaginative, physical and had elements of multiroling. There was high energy throughout the piece and was very fast paced, I believe this style of performance is really good for younger audiences. The atmosphere and mood of the piece was very engaging and fast, this was created by having high levels of energy and whilst the actors were not necessarily talking fast, the pace was quite fast for most of the piece and they did not exceed a long amount of time on each scene. I believe the most interesting and effective performers were those that really pushed their characters voice, stance and pace. Creating contrasts when they were delivering lines and keep a high level of energy even in slower scenes. This was engaging for the audience and you were always eager to see more. I really enjoyed the part with the use of the rope as a snake, I thought it was extremely clever and whilst they used a little amount of props, the delivery was amazing and I really was inspired to start to think about using props in such a way for my devised piece. The set was very minimal but it helped set the mood and scenery, I believe that the designer wanted to leave room for more devised work and so that the piece was less reliant on the set to make it interesting but more on the actors and their work. But there were elements in the set which helped audience members understand where and when the characters were set in as well as being able to use elements of the set as props or other means to engage.
