The places which shaped my life

Hi, my name is Marlen! I want to tell the story about the places which shaped my life.

So I was born in city of Osh (Pic. 1). It is a second largest city in Kyrgyzstan, the country in Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan is located in the very center of the region, that’s why we call it “the Heart of’ Asia”). Osh is an ancient metropolis; it is estimated to be more than 3000 years old! Since the 8th century it has been a significant point of the Silk Road as plenty of markets and guest houses were there. Nowadays Osh city is unofficial “southern capital of Kyrgyzstan”.

After that I was also living in two cities in southern Kyrgyzstan: Kyzyl-kiya (picture on the left below) and Batken (picture on the right below).

In 2006 my family moved to Russia. So then I used to live in Kazan – gorgeous city in Russia which hosted World Summer Universiade in 2013 and FINA World Championship in 2015.

But actually more valuable Russian city for me is Naberezhnye Chelny as I had been living there for eight years. I suppose that this is my hometown because everything I experienced first was here: first sports try-out, first passport, first bad mark at school, – so much to remember!
