EE Final Reflection

I enjoyed my EE research and achieved a significant amount of data for the result. I was in touch with lavender essential oil frequently and interested in the topic thus fully understood it, therefore, I had a well-planned schedule for it. The usage of equipment was appropriate and efficient. The incubation time was controlled under an estimated 24 hours for the data to be collected under the best status. However, the initial antibiotic chose, Amoxicillin, was unexpectedly not inhibiting the bacteria cultures due to specific genes of the selected E.coli. I thought it was technical or concentration issues, therefore, I adjusted those details and only discovered the truth later in the process. Trimethoprim replaced Amoxicillin and all trials involved Amoxicillin needed to redo, suddenly messing up the plan. It was pressured, but I kept calm and managed in the end despite a portion of the data was redone over one week where I spent averagely 3 hours a day on for catching up the delay. I should test the antibiotic’s inhibitory effect on the bacteria in the pilot study even it is evaluated as a classic inhibitor because rare situations do occur and there is no hundred percent guarantee.
