Reflection 1: Project Week

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

During our project week in grade 11, we encounter some or all of the CAS experiences. Together with a group of 4 to 6 students, we plan our trip, correspond with providers of the chose CAS experience and strengthen our knowledge of the CAS values even further due to our focus on issues and topics on a more global scale.
My group and me will travel to Jaipur, India to work together with the GC I-India. I-India focuses on improving the lives of children living on the streets, most of them being homeless and sometimes abused by strangers or even their own families. Our tasks will be mostly focused on teaching them English and interacting with them through for example dancing and other arts. We hope that we can have a positive impact on the children’s lives by helping them become more secure and have some fun times together with us and the other kids.

Our initial proposal has been approved, right now we are focusing on the planning document as well as the PW Action Plan, the planning has been going fluently throughout the last weeks, however we are facing some issues with contacting the provider. We will have a meeting with our supervisor soon to be able to figure out our issue and focus on the things we need to look out for.  Furthermore, we have a meeting with the head of the GC I-India at our school in order to prepare and further plan details of our trip.
Planning a trip like this definitely helps us to gain more skills in working together in a group in order to submit everything in time and have a good overview of what we are doing, however, it gets difficult sometimes to remember every little thing you still have to get done but the documents and the help that is provided is a great support.
