March reflection service (NYAA)

We had a second workshop this week in order to understand the different methods and approaches we can take in order to conduct indirect service. This session we worked on brainstorming ways we can connect and help the kids and our service partner without meeting them. In this session, I really began to realise that the indirect action like making videos, creating cards for them, etc can really have an impact and that it is especially important to take this indirect action through these difficult times.

This month we also had our first session as a group. To kick off our indirect service journey we decided in order to test some of the way we can indirectly connect with the kids we had to try them out for ourselves. We played and did some possible things we could do for the kids. We also spent some time brainstorming some more ways we could indirectly create an impact for them.

I want to continue learning the importance of indirect action and the impact of what we do for them. I believe that if we work together we will be able to create meaningful action even if it is something small like putting a smile on those kids faces. I don’t really know the kids because I haven’t met them so I intend on using this time to better understand my service so that next year when I sign up again I have complete knowledge of what they stand for and this will help me move forward in terms of understanding how to raise awareness for PPIS.
