Badminton #1

I had my first badminton training session yesterday and learnt the following skills:

  1. Lobbing
  2. Striking

I’ve come to realise how difficult the sport truly is if you play it properly. Before, I would rely on my power and strength to hit the shuttlecock to the other side of the net. However, within the span of one training session, I learnt how much technique is required to play this sport. For next time, I want to improve on the following:

  1. My footwork to ensure better efficiency on the court,
  2. My lobbying to ensure more consistent striking before I move into more advanced techniques,
  3. My defensive plays to create more analytical gameplay rather than trying to hit the shuttlecock as hard as I can, increasing efficiency and more opportunities,
  4. To improve my aim to ensure I can make the opponent move from one place to another to tire them out faster than I tire myself out.

This is how I see CAS in Week One

My initial impressions on tackling the CAS program is how challenging, but exciting it is. I am ardent on taking part in activities like Project Week. However, things that I will find challenging but exciting is rejoining my GC and service. Rejoining these services is challenging to me because I will have to readjust to the different environment of new members and challenges to tackle within my service/GC.
