Investigation + Preparation

I have signed up for going on both Service and Activity trip during the Project week. My group was 5 people, where I had people I knew and people who I was not as familiar with.

The decision to visit the Children’s Shelter Foundation in Thailand was made as a group, where everyone wanted to go on a trip relating a Global Concerns group our school works with. We also planned to join 8 Adventures packet in Chiang Mai, where they offered a 2-day tracking and kayaking package. The purpose and destination of the trip were easily decided, from discussions and researched.

The researches on the Children’s Shelter Foundation was done, in order to understand the actions they take and the awareness they are trying to raise. This process helped us in understanding the need of the clients and to plan the activities we would be doing on the trip. Also, contact with the organisation’s leader and the GC group at our school also helped in achieving this preparation.

We have seen challenged during the process of planning for the trip in the provided cost. As a Minute taker myself, I had to plan the timeline and transport of the trip. The experience of investigation and preparation helped me to improve the skill of organisation and management.
