Today was an exciting session communicating with the younger children from primary school. Two young speakers, one of them is ten and the other seven who both loves coding. With huge passions from traveling, Zara the older one of them created Octa to help get people planned before their trips. On the website, you can choose where you going to(country), what attraction you are heading to, and some popular places nearby too. I find it really fascinating how such young kids have already started to be this creative knowledgeable. It is also quite amazing to see her helping other people to get their travel plans ready before the actual travel, never realizing that there are many people who travel to the country and do not know where exactly to go and what to do. This website can really help them get their trips planned and organized before they travel.
There was that slightly younger boy, Zubin. Remembering him mentioning that he loves playing football and also has been to several camps around the world. When training, he said that hydration is really important to our human body so then he started learning to code. Zubin made a robot, that carries water and snacks to help hydrate the football players. I thought this is incredible how a grade one kid’s observations are so good, looking at other kids “dying” in the heat under the hot sun. Him creating something that benefits them.
