GPERS Unit 2 Reflection, Gay conversion In China Hospitals

Towards the end, in a group of 5 and 6 we had discussed what we had done for our assessment.I would like to discuss about the hospitals attempting to do Gay conversation which is basically giving emotional threats to transgender people in an attempt turn them from homosexual to heterosexual.Understanding what a perspectives has helped me understand the different elements of that helps me craft my way into this issue.Local perspectives is something that is driven and focused specifically to that topic but global has more perspectives to a more wider and broader area of the topic.I personally think that having to convert transgender people is fairly wrong and it not giving a voice in the people. And that it is not ethically and morally fair for people as they have no freedom of speech.

Global Perspectives

Is gender identity physical or mental?

Gender identity physical or mental stage really depends on your perspectives on it.Many people have different opinions as some are female and some are male.In my personal opinion, I think gender identity is on your physical character because that is what people look into and not your mental state. The mental state is also important but physical is more important because that is what determines the way you act, your personality and your physical appearance. Some people have the tendency too judge a person too quickly and then it is hard for them to change their opinion about them, which is why we always need to create a good impression on people when you first meet them.Another reason to support ‘Gender identity’ being physical is that if you want to stay up to your identity, you should learn how to act like the gender you are or else later in life you will be someone else you are not meant to be.Acting like the opposite gender all the time is something called ‘gender dysphoria’. Feeling that your body does not reflect your true gender can cause severe distress, anxiety and depression.Gender dysphoria used to be called “gender identity disorder.” But the mismatch between body and internal sense of gender is not a mental illness, it is just the disadvantage of not being who you are suppose to portray as your gender.
