Initial Reflection

I knew that I wanted to a mathematics EE as I have always found passion there and origami was connected to my culture in Japan and I was sure it was perfect for my topic when I first learned about it. When researching this topic, there were many branches of origami mathematics and narrowing it down was one of my challenges. With the discussion with my supervisor, I’ve narrowed it down to the effects of origami tesselation on the new NASA’s project, shape-shifting radiator. As I was also interested in engineering, this was a great topic for me. I first approached my research by looking through the overarching ideas and I looked at specific ideas in the topic to try to outline my extended essay. Some challenges I faced was finding the resources because they were not available in the local library, but my supervisor guided me to acquire the appropriate resources.
