I-India is an NGO based in Jaipur, India that aims to empower and protect street children and women who often run away from their homes because of abuse, child marriage and child labour, however, our current work is mostly with regards to planning a fundraising event to prepare. I have been made head of communications and logistics for the GC, which includes organising the invites for meetings, and managing the communications made from the group.
By offering to take up the role, I feel like I took into account the fact that I consider drafting articles or statements a strength of mine. However, being new to the GC, I see a lot of potential for growth and adaptation to the specific aspects of this group. Working with the secretary of the GC, I plan to learn more about the work that needs to be done, and how I can best do it.
