CAS reflection

During the one-to-one chat with my mentor, I’ve reflected on my CAS experience this term and this year in general. The global pandemic of COVID-19 has a massive impact on our community and CAS experience in specific.

My main focus this year was on staying consistent and committed to my goals and that is nicely represented through the LO4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in your CAS experiences). My service (Yoga with Tampines MINDS) has started off in a nice way in 2020, however, the restrictions on meeting people from outside the school limited us in showing support to our partners. We’ve managed to stay connected through the letters of support, video-messages, and keeping our research on intellectual disabilities going. Now, as the COVID-19 spread has increased, we are reflecting on the values and experience gained from the service during the year.

Swimming has helped me to stay healthy and active this year. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, I am not able to carry on with that, however, I try to stay healthy by managing my diet and exercising regularly. This experience is related to LO2  (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process) since we find new ways to carry on with our normal activities.
