My personality type

My personality type identified by the Myers Briggs test is INFP-A which allocates me as an Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Prospective and Asserting and has the name of Mediator. 16paths describes Mediators as shy, reserved and calm to others but have an inner flame and passion. The site goes on to describe how Mediators often are guided by values rather than facts, curiosity or practicality.

I do agree with this analysis as I often exhibit a lot the same personality characteristics that 16paths had listed out. However there are some personalities that I don’t particularly agree with such as the idea that INFPs have a natural tendency to appreciate and excel at languages and expression. Many INFPs have been identified and most of them are writers. 16paths lists out writers such as Tolkien and Shakespeare as INFPs which correlates to the idea that INFPs are predominantly aspiring or professional writers. People who appreciate reclusive roles in order to focus their thoughts and intuitions to produce something that is uniquely theirs.

Service (15/11/2018)

Today I had to present to my service. My group had presented about creating charts in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. Although I did meet my goal to present to a large group of people, I feel like my share of the presentation was not balanced among my group, therefore my next goal is to attempt to have an equal share on the presentation. In addition I feel as if my speech wasn’t as clear as it could be so it ties into my overall goal of being able to speak and present information more clearly. I would like to continue to pursue this goal for the next time I present as I feel as if I could fully achieve it

Learning objectives achieved : LO 1, LO 2, LO 4

As I had considered my goals as well as reflected on whether or not I had achieved it, I achieved LO 1 and 2.

Yearbook (30/10/18)

The 30th of October marks the beginning of the second week after the break. In yearbook, we had just finished first drafts for the pages where the images would go. To design the pages we were split into teams so the individual workload is much lighter. One challenge I can foresee happening is the fact that my team’s designs don’t quite match up with each other’s and thus the pages would be difficult to implement together. By looking at the potential benefits as well as the possible negatives, i met LO 5.

Going into this, I think I would like to improve my capability to take and use criticism with respects to my work as I often struggle with going forward from my work after the first round of feedback.

Learning outcomes achieved : 1, 5

Yearbook reflection (23/11/18)

As of now, we have finalized our designs for each individual section and moving into importing the images for the yearbook. We had managed to coordinate our designs by agreeing to use one specific aspect and having variation in each of our pages while still having the same feel through it’s shared motifs and designs. Because there were 3 people including me assigned to our section, we had spread out the workload so each person would only create 2 pages and combine them all into 6 pages for the section. I feel as if my skills for graphic design were improved as I learned how to properly align with margins and my skills with Adobe InDesign have been further developed which may be useful in the future.
