In regards to the mock IO practice with my partner Anoushka, I think that it went quite smoothly. I didn’t feel as nervous—probably because it was with a friend I knew well—but I was able to passionately talk about my texts without stumbling on my words too much. One thing I noticed about myself while speaking, was that my sentences when analyzing certain quotes were too long. It became to the point where it was too lengthy and hard to understand what my main point was. For the next class, I will try to make it more clear and concise.

The feedback I got from Anoushka was extremely helpful. I noticed from her IO, she had implemented the phrase “To quote” before referring to any lines. She told me that at times, it was hard to distinguish the lines from the quotes in my analysis, so I think I will add this to my script. Another thing is that I unnecessarily mention the phrase “global issue” too many times – I don’t have to be as explicit when analyzing. Also, I should further show more of my knowledge on the background of each text.
