TOK: Representation of Our Culture

We can witness this occurrence almost every day of the year, a sport embraced by society as a ‘need’. The sport is complex in design, challenging the player’s self control, focus, management and also physical strength. These athletes are are forced to walk through tunnels with an open overhead, with their arms extended in front of them gripping onto a large metal rack as they selectively pick pieces of a puzzle from these towers, inspecting the code written and examining the language against the formula found in the pockets of their clothing or on the screen of their phones. It can be noted that each individual holds a different formula depending on the commands for the round. The large metal structures often roam with free minds, engulfing the puzzle pieces, forming a mound in its centre and sometimes injuring the toes of the athletes as they attempt to guide these structures with much difficulty. The final exchange in this sport occurs after a series of beeps from a tallier before the athlete leaves the stadium with a collection of weights.
