Over the past few days, we have explored the idea of online presence as teenagers in this day and age. What we found was that some of these topics have a direct correlation to our personal lives, as we have experienced firsthand the acts of bullying, whilst for others who have not experienced this in particular, there are various ways in which we can relate to these instances. At first, I was slightly unaware of the fact that people’s views on bullying are usually specific to the gender of a person, where girls are expected to face more bullying and hatred from others, whilst boys are thought to be less exposed. However, drawing from the class discussion – I have become more aware of the choices I am making on a daily basis, especially when I am around people that I may not necessarily know as well. Some of the things I intend to implement would be to be careful of what I am posting on social media by ensuring that people are comfortable in social situations.
